Overview:

The Aquarium of the Pacific is Southern California's largest aquarium and the fifth largest in the nation. The Aquarium is also the third largest cultural attraction in the Los Angeles area and welcomes nearly 1.4 million visitors annually of all ages and backgrounds. It provides a fun and exciting experience through interactive exhibits and daily presentations, a variety of educational programs, classes and courses, guest speakers and more.

The Aquarium of the Pacific showcases 3 main galleries highlighting the major regions of the Pacific - the Southern California/Baja, the Northern Pacific and the Tropical Pacific. Each gallery has its own exhibits.

Southern California/Baja Gallery:
The Baja coast includes warm bays and lagoons, mangrove forests, and giant kelp forests. A large variety of species are featured in the Aquarium's 18 exhibits from these diversified habitats. Enjoy the Ray Touch Pool, The Sanctuary to Shorebirds, Rocky Inter-tidal, Wetlands, and many more exhibits in this rich gallery highlighting Southern California's coastline.

Catch a Wave Exhibit:
Learn about tsunamis. Find out what creates our waves right here in Southern California. Explore how animals survive in the surf. Experience the heart-pounding beauty of surfing, and dive into surf culture with special exhibits, programs, and events. Learn about how our influence on the environment is changing how waves affect us, our ocean and our planet.

The Northern Pacific Gallery:
This gallery represents the northernmost region of the Pacific Ocean, covering over 800,000 square miles between Alaska, Siberia, the Bering Strait, and the Aleutian Islands. The Bering Sea is home to over 450 species of fish and invertebrates, 50 bird species and 25 species of marine mammals. See the home of the adorable Sea Otter and the mysterious Giant Pacific Octopus here.

Tropical Pacific Gallery:
The warm 80-degree waters of Micronesia contain an astounding 2,100 islands. The 16 exhibits in the Aquarium's Tropical Pacific Gallery represent the beautiful marine life you would find off the coast of Palau Island. It also displays venomous creatures and the only exhibit with live coral in the Aquarium.

The Tropical Reef Habitat Exhibit:
Can be viewed from three locations in the gallery and it is the Aquarium's largest exhibit. Holding 350,000 gallons of water, it is home to over a thousand colorful fish and beautiful coral. See daily dive and feeding presentations.

So, plan your visit, buy your e-Ticket, make your way to the Aquarium of the Pacific, and prepare yourself for an underwater, tropical, oceanic experience you won't want to miss!
