Riders embark on their journey from the
TOUR CENTER location in Fisherman's Wharf. Outfitted with helmets, locks,
maps & route instructions, guests will enjoy the freedom & adventure going
wherever the path leads them. Suggestions are provided for all the
favorite local rides, so guests will treasure their day out 'biking the
bay'!
For example, if riding to Sausalito, one follows the San Francisco
waterfront past Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, the Marina and Presidio
neighborhoods, Crissy Field to Fort Point. Riders cross the Golden Gate
Bridge on wide bike path, then through the Vista Point to Old Fort Baker.
The tour finalizes in Sausalito where riders can enjoy the shops, the many
art galleries, and delicious food before cycling or ferrying back to San
Francisco.
Others may wish to cycle to Golden Gate Park: Starting in Fisherman's Wharf, ride the city waterfront path down into the Presidio. From there, go on wide bike lane that cuts through the Presidio down to Golden Gate Park. From East to west the parks museums & destinations include: the Conservatory of Flowers, the Botanical Gardens, the Shakespeare Garden, the deYoung Museum, the Japanese Tea Garden and Stow Lake. At the beach visit the old Dutch Windmill, then cycle back to Bay City Bike.
