The Boston Movie Mile Tour enables
guests to "See Boston thru Hollywood's Eyes." The goal is to provide
guests with a fun and entertaining way to experience Boston by
bringing these movies and TV shows to life.
Although a face-to-face meeting with actor Matt Damon is unlikely, you
can walk in his footsteps on the new Boston Movie Mile tour.
On this 90-minute walking tour, you'll sit on the bench in the Public
Garden where Damon and Robin Williams chatted in the movie "Good Will
Hunting.'' You'll stroll down Acorn Street in Beacon Hill, just as
Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen did in "The Thomas Crown Affair".
This tour is heralded as a way to recognize Boston's popularity as the
setting for films and television shows. People know Boston for its
history. This tour will show Boston in a new light, through the eyes
of Hollywood.
The Boston Movie Mile tour was created as a way for people to step out
of their own realities and step into the shoes of celebrities. For
movie buffs, it's a thrill to stand at the exact location where a
famous movie was shot or where a movie star strolled.
As the tour moves from the State House, down Beacon and Charles
streets and through the side streets of Beacon Hill, guides point out
the locations of movies filmed in Boston and TV shows set in Boston.
Along the way, tour guides throw out film and television trivia
questions and award tickets which walkers can redeem for a T-shirt.
The game creates camaraderie among walkers as they call out answers.
So bone up on your Movie and TV trivia and get ready to walk the
Boston Movie Mile!
NOTE:
This tour is seasonal and
operates from May thru Oct.
