Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is North America's longest running
and most popular dinner attraction. Guests experience an evening of
quality, family entertainment inspired by 11th century history; and
witness live jousting, swordplay, horsemanship and falconry. Guests
are taken back in time and encouraged to cheer for one of six Knights
of the Realm, named after historic regions of medieval Spain, while
feasting on a four-course banquet served in true medieval,
pre-silverware fashion.

conditioned arena that features state-of-the-art sound, lighting
and special effects systems for the ultimate tournament
experience.

The visitor experience begins as guests
enter an entertainment complex inspired by an 11th century, European-style
castle. In the Hall of Arms, guests admire the display of medieval
artifacts. There are coats of arms of many prestigious families and a
spectacular array of medieval weaponry on display. There is also a Museum
of Torture, which features reproductions of torture instruments used
during the Middle Ages.
Royal trumpeters announce the call to the feast, summoning guests to take
their seats in the arena. Once inside, guests are greeted by King Phillipe
and Princess Leonore, who invite them to share in a regal banquet and
cheer for their own Knight of the Realm, designated by six color zones of
seating (red, blue, yellow, black & white, red & yellow and green)
representing six authentic regions of Medieval Spain.
In the arena, Serfs and Wenches attend to every need of the guests who
feast on a four-course dinner, served sans silverware as the live show
opens. In the new production, a brave Prince is captured via sneak attack,
adding an element of drama and suspense to what otherwise would have been
King Phillips celebration feast to toast the new peace in the land. The
arena next quickly fills with the thunder of hooves as the Lord Chancellor
leads the cast through a spectacular display of equestrian skills and
medieval pageantry, and through a flashback scene the Prince's young
bride, Princess Leonore, recalls with longing her last moments shared with
King Phillip's heir to the throne.
The pace quickens as a Tournament of Games begins. The valiant Knights on
horseback face their competition in games of skill, such as the ring
pierce, flag toss and javelin throw. The pace quickens as word of the
missing Prince finally reaches the King, and an evil villain is revealed
to the crowd. As a battle ensues to maintain good over evil, guests cheer
their own Knight to victory in authentic jousting matches and dangerous
sword fights.
At the conclusion of the tournament, guests have an opportunity to receive
autographs and mingle with cast members in the Knight Club.
BILL OF FARE:
Guests feast on garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken,
spare rib, herb-basted potato, pastry of the Castle, coffee and two rounds
of select beverages. A full-service bar is also available for adult
guests.
HISTORY:
Medieval Times uses authentic medieval history to inspire and develop
the plot of its live production. The dinner attraction began with two
dinner/entertainment complexes located in Majorca and Benidorm, Spain.
Since opening the first North American castle in 1983, the company has
expanded to nine Castles and has entertained more than 40 million
visitors.
Georgia's castle's iconic twin turrets are the most recent interpretation
of Medieval Times' signature look. The bold exterior only hints at the
heroics of the Knights within. But it's not until the lances splinter,
swords clash and sparks fly that the 1,100 revelers become part of the
action too, cheering for their favorite Knight. The Georgia castle is in
Gwinnett County, 11 miles Northeast of the Atlanta perimeter, at Discover
Mills.
ARRIVE EARLY
The Castle doors will open 90 minutes prior to the show time. Plan to
arrive early; seating is first come, first served and to obtain the best
seats available you should arrive as early as possible. Many shows
sell-out so it takes time to get everyone in efficiently and safely. Once
in the Hall of Arms there are plenty of activities and festivities to
enjoy, visit the extensive gift shop, full-service bar, museum of torture,
and observe the master falconer and the birds up close. Knighting
ceremonies are also performed pre-show.
