Here is what you can SEE and EXPERIENCE at
the New England Aquarium ...
Within its compact exhibit space, the Aquarium shows off everything from a
lumbering, 500-pound sea turtle, to a tapestry of colorful tropical fish.
The spectacular Giant Ocean Tank is at the center of the aquarium and
encircled by 3 levels of exhibits, galleries, displays and thousands of
sea creatures from hundreds of different species. The Aquarium's scores of
other tanks are well-designed side trips.
Stop by the penguin exhibit. It spans the ground floor, contains more than
150,000 gallons of filtered Boston Harbor seawater, and is home to the
African, rockhopper and little blue penguin colonies.
Then it's off to the Boston Harbor Island Beach Exhibit, where birds
scamper along an authenticated sandy shoreline, while soles burrow in the
sand and lumpfish swim in the surf.
The Gulf of Maine Exhibit, featuring such local mainstays as Atlantic cod
and halibut, rare blue and golden lobsters, and the notoriously ugly
monkfish (or goosefish), might be your next stop.
The New England Aquarium in Boston is much more than a place to see
aquatic life. It's a place focused on raising people's awareness of the
environment through exhibits, education programs and outreach programs.
Expand your mind in the Thinking Gallery! The Thinking Gallery is a series
of exhibits designed to both engage and entertain your brain. Watch out!
Don't overload any circuits!

you kick back, relax and just watch them explore. It's a place designed
for young visitors with bright colors, child-sized chairs, hand-on
presentations and special steps that give a closer look at the Aquarium's
Giant Ocean Tank.
You won't want to miss the Freshwater Gallery. Explore wildlife
