Overview:

Enjoy a walk through New Orleans' elegant Garden District, known for its marvelous examples of Greek Revival and Italianate architecture. The Garden District is known as the "American" section of town that was built to rival the architectural splendor of the Creoles' French Quarter! Homes of former Kings and Queens of Mardi Gras are located in this area ... once part of the plantation owned by Bienville, the founder of New Orleans.

View the former residence of celebrated author Anne Rice and rock star Trent Reznor (outside only), as well as the house where Jefferson Davis died in 1889; and Toby's Corner, the oldest house in the area (built in 1838). Visit Lafayette Cemetery, one of the Cities of the Dead, and learn about the unusual above-ground burial system.

Explore the elegant Garden District with knowledgeable guides who will entertain you with historical stories and fabulous facts. Experience the architectural splendor of the tree lined Garden District and you will see why it is known for it's marvelous examples of Greek Revival and Italianate architecture.
