About The Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty Island Ferry:
Ellis Island is currently fully open. Liberty Island is also open,
though access to the interior of the Statue of Liberty Monument is
restricted as a security measure. Over 40% of the U.S. population
descend from the 17 million immigrants that have passed through Ellis
Island from 1892 to 1954. The three story Ellis Island Museum is
housed in the same building that the immigrants came through in those
64 years.
About The South Street Seaport Museum:
This tour is seasonal - see Schedule Below
When you visit the South Street Seaport Museum, the exhibits in the
galleries and on the historic ships are just the beginning of a
fantastic voyage back in time. The museum is located on the site of
what was once this country's leading port and is now a
twelve-square-block historic district in lower Manhattan. South Street
provides visitors with an unforgettable glimpse into a past where 18th
and 19th century buildings line stone-paved streets.
Founded in 1967, the mission of the South Street Seaport Museum is to
trace the history of the Port of New York, and its commercial and
cultural impact on the city, the state, and the nation. The museum
fulfills its mission through its galleries and exhibits, living
history and educational (for children and adults) programs, and the
largest privately owned collection of historic vessels (in tonnage) in
the United States.
Come, take the Essential New York with Top of the Rock Tour and
experience all that New York City has to offer.
