The San Diego
Zoo's Wild Animal Park is home to more than 3,500 rare and exotic
animals - most of whom roam freely in vast enclosures. Unlike any other zoo, this amazing safari adventure park is
home to hundreds of animals roaming together on the vast
open plains of Africa and Asia.
Journey Into Africa Tour: Rhinos, giraffes, ostriches, and much more! The new Journey into Africa tour at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park is an exciting expedition. Innovative tour vehicles, a new route, and a diverse animal collection combine to create a fresh, new experience.
Creating this experience took a lot of work: it's the biggest project undertaken since the Park opened! Designed to give visitors a great experience, the new ride path takes you into some of the field exhibits, giving you a chance to connect with the animals on a new level.
Conservation Carousel: For kids and kids at heart, the colorful Conservation Carousel features 60 ride elements to choose from, many of which replicate rare and endangered animals. You can ride giraffes, rhinos, zebras, cheetahs, and more—which will be your favorite? Give the carousel a spin!
Animal Encounters: Meet a variety of critters and
their trainers during these up-close-and personal talks
throughout the Park. And always keep your eyes open, because
you never know what wild thing may be making a surprise walk
through (or flyby)!
Bird Show: You'll love the bird show at the Benbough
Amphitheater. Lots of comedy and education are in store for
you!
Hawk Talk:
Chat with bird trainers and meet their charges up close.
Elephant Show: You will be amazed by the way the
keepers work with a 10,000-pound (4,500-kilogram) pachyderm,
as elephants demonstrate behaviors that feature their
strength, intelligence, and versatility.
