intimate with San Francisco and Sausalito on a guided tour of the

Bike the Bay with Bay City Bikes!
First, riders are outfitted with their 24 gear hybrid or mountain
bicycle. Each bike is outfitted with 24 gears, front suspension, front
handlebar bags, rear gear racks with bungee & helmet.
Next riders will have a quick Safety & Gear lesson to make sure all riders
are ready & comfortable to start their day biking the bay!
With a tour guide, the group will embark on their journey following the
San Francisco waterfront on the Bay Trail bike path, through Aquatic Ark.
At the beach's end, they will turn out onto the Historic Municipal Pier,
where the view of Alcatraz is spectacular (that is, if the bay has none of
its infamous fog!)
Riders then journey through Fort Mason with more expansive bay views and
across the Old Fort down into the Marina. The Marina bike path runs
between lovely houseboats on your right and exclusive waterfront homes on
your left. At the Marina's end is the Palace of Fine Arts, built in 1915
to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal.
The path continues through Crissy Field, where the recent reconstruction
has afforded San Francisco a real park like setting to ride bikes, run the
dogs, fly kites, or just picnic and relax! The end of Crissy Field
underneath the Golden Gate is Fort Point, built to protect the harbor from
Confederate & foreign attack during & after the U.S. Civil War.
From Fort Point riders loop up to the Golden Gate Bridge. They will cross
on wide bike path for outstanding views & photo opportunities. From there
they cycle downhill on a "bikes only" road into Old Fort Baker. The final
stop is Marin's southernmost city, Sausalito.
Riders are free to keep the bike until Bay City Bike's closing hours - so
go ahead, cycle more! Or, lock up the bikes & shop or dine in one
Sausalito's fabulous establishments.
Later, ferry back to the San Francisco waterfront with the included ferry
ticket. Once on the ferry, riders can relax and just enjoy the boat cruise
across the Bay to San Francisco.
