The driver guide will be available to give helpful shopping tips and directions to the shops recommended and approved by Tijuana's Merchants Association for quality merchandise. American currency is accepted and English is spoken by most merchants. Visitors may purchase up to $800. of merchandise duty free and one liter of alcohol per person.

U.S. and Canadian Citizens, ages 19 and older, will need to present a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate. A passport is highly recommended for travel in and out of Mexico.

Children ages 18 and under will be required to present proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate for re-entry to the United States.

Non-U.S. Citizens - A passport, I-94 card or resident alien card is required. Due to heightened security at the border, additional paperwork is required from visitors from some countries. This only applies to a very few countries. Please be aware of the status of your country or origin or check with the local immigration office to ensure that multiple-entry into the U.S. is allowed. This will avoid unnecessary delays.
