What better place to spend your vacation than in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. What started as a small suburb of Phoenix has now grown to one of the largest cities in Arizona with plenty outstanding attractions for you to discover.
Scottsdale is well known for its many world-class golf courses and trendy nightlife but there are plenty of other things to do for the business traveler or the family traveling with children.
The following are a number of suggested attractions for you to choose from during your visit to the area commonly known as the Valley of the Sun.
Perhaps on the top of the list for attractions in Scottsdale, is Taliesin West, which is on the list of US National Register of Historic Places. The legendary Frank Lloyd Wright, who lived there for over 20 years, designed this unique architectural wonder. It is now the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture but you can also do a tour of the amazing campus.
If you are visiting during the springtime, you can take in a Major League Baseball spring training game and watch some of the game�s best-known names in a more personable setting. In fact the 2010 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants call Scottsdale Stadium their home baseball park during spring training.
The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is not only an interesting site to visit for the kids but it is also a great place to spend the day for the adults. Here the kids have a carousel and a playground for activity and also ride one of the oldest locomotives still in operation. There is also an outstanding exhibit of early trains from the 1900s.
Also when visiting Scottsdale, please visit the Old Town area where you will find a number of great places for dining, art galleries, fine hotels and nightlife that compares itself to some of the great cities of the world. Downtown Scottsdale is known to have the highest number of museums and art galleries per capita in the entire country.
Lastly the main draw to Scottsdale is the several high-end resort hotels such as the Four Seasons and the Camelback Resort along with the several elite golf courses to choose from.
