Washington D.C. Segway Night Tour

Segway Tours offers you the complete experience: a great orientation, informative historical and current-day information, heaps of unique and fascinating stories, fantastic photo ops, superb personal service from your guide and an opportunity to ride the coolest machine in the world - the Segway!

Overview:

What is a Segway?

bullet Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway sports high-tech gyroscopes that automatically respond to your body's movements, "sensing" when it should speed up and slow down.
bullet You stand on a small platform between left and right wheels as you hold onto handlebars at a comfortable waist height. The Segway handles the balancing for you, so that you're always upright as you glide through any environment.
bullet Designed to operate in any pedestrian environment.
bullet It's new, it's cool, safe and easy to use plus a ton of fun! The perfect way to see the 'Capitol'!

The Segway Night Tour is the perfect tour for both those new to the city and those locals looking to experience Washington DC with an effortless glide. For the newbies to DC, this tour will offer you a fantastic orientation and give you an opportunity to see virtually all of the sites you've read about. For the veterans, you'll learn new facts and stories about Washington that you've never heard. And you will both agree that riding a Segway is the best way to see "D.C."

Highlights of the tour include: *

bullet The White House - possibly the most photographed building in the world and the greatest symbol of power. Every president except George Washington has lived in this Executive Mansion. Find out which President had two bear cubs as pets.
bullet The Capitol Building - the government moved to "Jenkins' Hill" in 1800 and the building has been in constant development since. The only public building in the city where the exact cornerstone is unknown.
bullet Smithsonian Castle Building - established by British scientist, James Smithson, who sent his fortune, 100 bags of gold, for "the increase and diffusion of knowledge". Serving as the first endowment, the Smithsonian Institution has grown to 15 buildings and complexes.
bullet Smithsonian Air & Space Museum - this has become the most visited museum in the world. Learn why the Smithsonian Institute had to build another museum 40 miles away. The museum on the Mall houses the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world!
bullet National Galleries of Art - find out which museum was the site of our country's first presidential assassination. Pieces from the world's finest artisans over the last 3 centuries are exhibited.
bullet Smithsonian Natural History - the second most visited museum in the world. Hear the mystique behind the Hope Diamond and so much more.
bullet Smithsonian American History Museum - Sometimes referred to as "America's Attic". This museum collects anything possible, but got it's start with the original flag for the United States and the story behind it
bullet The Washington Monument - the pinnacle structure dedicated to the founder of our country, George Washington. The centerpiece of the National Mall.
bullet Also see the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, WWII Memorial, Old Executive Building, Ford's Theater and more!

Make a reservation to join the Segway Night Tour and have fun while you tour! It is easy to learn how to glide. You will receive plenty of instruction before the tour begins and be able to practice until everyone feels comfortable. Then it is gliding time to see the sites! You'll be talking about this experience for years to come.
