Boston Day Sail aboard Schooner Adirondack III The Adirondack III is a classic pilot schooner that features mahogany trim and teak decks, which harkens back to the glorious wind and sail era. View the modern Boston skyline from this tall ship under full canvas as you sail across the city's historic harbor.

Highlights:

  • The Boston Fish Pier
  • The Moakley Federal Courthouse at Fan Pier
  • Castle Island and the Donald McKay monument
  • Inner Harbor Islands
  • Charleston Navy Yard
  • Waterfront Park
  • The New England Aquarium
The elegant Adirondack III has sleek lines that provide a thrilling ride as she glides through the waters of Boston Harbor. The schooner's 70-foot-tall Douglas fir masts can accommodate more than 2,000 square feet of canvas. This invigorating cruise is a thrilling way to view the skyscrapers and historical landmarks dispersed along the skyline. When the schooner slips away from her berth at Rowe's Wharf, you will soon forget the cares of the day as you sit back, relax and enjoy the memorable cruise. Your knowledgeable captain and crew will share stories about Boston's maritime heritage, including interesting insights into the city's legends and folklore.

The route that the 1.5- to 2-hour voyage takes is dependent upon wind conditions. You will generally sail by historic and cultural sites, such as the Financial District, the Fish Pier, Waterfront Park, the New England Aquarium and the Moakley Federal Courthouse at Fan Pier. The route also includes the Donald McKay Monument, the Charlestown Navy Yard and several Inner Harbor Islands like Castle Island, which is home to the five-pointed, hammered-granite mid-19th century fort. The navy yard is the homeport of the acclaimed USS Constitution, an 18th century three-masted, wooden-hulled warship named by President George Washington.

Capable of carrying 42 passengers, The Adirondack III has a private marine head, or bathroom, below decks as well as life jackets if you wish to wear one. The schooner is stocked with complimentary pillows, blankets, water and soda. Adults may purchase alcoholic beverages. Because food is not available on the vessel, passengers are invited to bring their own picnic lunches.

Come and enjoy the sun and cool ocean breezes as you survey the spectacular Boston skyline, which is laid out like a tapestry on the horizon. Obtain an eTicket today to reserve your place on the next Boston Day Sail aboard Schooner Adirondack III.
