Boston Freedom Trail:  A Walk into History Bostonians concerned with preserving the city's colonial history created the 2.5-mile Freedom Trail in the 1950s. The walking trail, identified by red bricks embedded in the pavement, includes 16 significant national historic sites. These authentic American treasures include burying grounds, churches, museums, parks and Old Ironsides. Along with a number of historic markers, they tell the story America's fight for independence and the establishment of a new nation.

Daily tours available year-round. Closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. Please arrive 15 minutes before tour departure.

Extend your stay on the Freedom Trail and visit the sites.Tours do not include entrance to Freedom Trail sites which have admission fees (Old South Meeting House, Old State House and Paul Revere House). You can purchase tickets at the sites.
