Boston Secret Food Tour When you join us for our Boston Secret Food Tour, you'll be able to sample some of Boston's favorites as well as the best Italian flavors in the Historic North End.

Highlights:

  • 3 to 3 ½ hours guided food tour in Boston's Historic North End
  • 6 stops to taste the local flavors
  • Sample unique local honeys and learn about the honeybee
  • A passionate and local guide
  • Small intimate groups (maximum of 12)
  • Explore the birthplace of the American Revolution, savoring each bite along the way
With nearly 100 restaurants and bakeries nestled into just 0.36 square miles, let your local guide lead you to the North End's hidden gems.

Walk in the footsteps of American legends; Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, Ben Franklin, John Hancock, John F Kennedy, and even some infamous characters like Charles Ponzi. Where better to learn about the history of Boston, than it's oldest residential neighborhood. With influences from many waves of immigrants, taste today's best Italian food in the heart of the city.

We'll begin with fresh pasta as a perfect introduction to the North End, Boston’s very own Little Italy. Brick oven pizza will be our next bite, cooked perfectly in an oven imported from Italy. At the next stop, an authentic Italian import grocery, savor the flavors of freshly sliced Italian salamis in their original sub sandwich.

Inside a public market featuring home-grown produce, we'll snack at a secret stop, sure to surprise and delight! Experience a Bostonian lobster roll as you learn some interesting facts about this iconic crustacean.

Conclude your adventure with a classic Sicilian cannoli in a pastry shop that's been a North End staple since 1930.

During the winter, this will be an empty brick area on John Fitzgerald Surface Road, between Hanover Street and Sudbury Street. Your guide will be holding an orange Secret Food Tours umbrella. If you are using a GPS, the address is: 136 Blackstone Street, Boston, MA 02109. The tour ends on Hanover Street Boston, MA 02113

Age Requirements:

Adults - ages 18+, Children - under 13. Upgrade includes: Chianti or Peroni (An Italian red wine or Italian light beer)

Notes:

Limited substitutions for gluten and nut allergies and for vegan options. Wheelchair accessibility: We’re not very accessible, at least one restaurant has a step up to get inside, and others involve going down to the basement. I would not recommend the tour for guests with serious mobility issues, and I’d say that while part of the North End’s charm is its historic quality, it also means that there are accessibility problems. Stroller accessibility - Yes the route will be fine, though we visit some small shops where they may need to keep the strollers outside. Sometimes we also sit downstairs (no elevator) so they may need to carry the stroller or take the child out while we’re eating.
