The California Academy of Sciences invites you to explore a vibrant rainforest, the era of the dinosaurs, the vastness of space and the depths of the ocean in its San Francisco facility. This leading cultural and scientific institution is housed in the world's largest eco-friendly public building. Blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, the living roof consists of 2.5 acres of indigenous California flora. By pre-purchasing a general admission eTicket, you can bypass the lines at the intriguing shows and exhibits.

The 4-story glass-dome living rainforest will engage your senses with its colorful and raucous inhabitants. You will hear chirping birds, croaking frogs and clicking cave-dwelling bats. See whether you can find the chameleons and other masters of camouflage as they blend with the lush vegetation inside the spherical exhibit. Your Aquarium of the Bay exploration begins here, featuring the distinctive ecosystems that support an incredibly wide variety of marine life. In eight exhibits featuring over a thousand aquatic animals, you will learn about the creatures that make their homes in the San Francisco Bay.

Under the Bay
Take a scuba diver's view of San Francisco Bay & without the scuba gear & in the Aquarium's most iconic exhibit. Where you can walk through 300 feet of crystal clear tunnels with over 20,000 marine animals surrounding you from the San Francisco Bay.

Touch the Bay
Feel what it is like to touch a bat ray, leopard shark and other land animals. The magic of San Francisco Bay is literally at your finger tips in Touch the Bay, featuring touch pools with sharks and rays, as well as one with sea stars and other invertebrates, an exhibit highlighting San Francisco Bay estuaries, the interactive Bay Lab station and even exhibits highlighting land-dwelling animals with special messages to share.

Hours: Mon - Sat 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Sun 11am to 5:00 pm. PLEASE NOTE: The building closes at 5:00 pm sharp. Visitors can enter the building until 4:00 pm.
Closed Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Aquarium of the Bay: Open 364 days each year. Closed on December 25.

The California Academy of Sciences is located at: 55 Music Concourse Drive, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA 94118. You can exchange your voucher for your entrance ticket at the 'Service Desk' located at the right side of the main entrance.

The Aquarium of the Bay vouchers can be redeemed at the Visitors Service Desk at the main entrance, located on Pier 39 in Fisherman's Wharf, The Embarcadero and Beach Streets , San Francisco, CA 94133

Parking:

California Academy of Sciences:Street parking is located throughout Golden Gate Park and the neighboring areas. See Directions below for Parking Garages.
Aquarium of the Bay:Public parking facilities are available at Pier 35 or across from the main entrance at the PIER 39 garage. The garage is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please note that Aquarium of the Bay does not validate parking, but many PIER 39 restaurants do.
