Collaborating with some of the area's best restaurants, Culinary Tours of Charleston is proud to offer food lovers the Charleston Chef's Kitchen Tour. This walking tour explores the history of the various restaurants and the individual chef's culinary visions that have led to a renaissance in Lowcountry cuisine. When the tour is over, you will have a better understanding of what it takes to create a culinary landmark.

Although the tour begins with specialty pastries and coffee at the first restaurant, the excursion focuses more on education rather than sampling the cuisine. You will learn how the chefs create their menus and prepare their delicacies. Participants should eat a light snack or meal before the morning tour begins.

The tour covers approximately one mile as the restaurants are clustered within a six-block radius of one another. The tour requires considerable standing and walking because there are few opportunities to sit down along the way after the first restaurant. The tour, offered once a day and limited to a maximum of 12 guests, culminates near City Market.

Due to the limited availability, this popular tour if often sold out. You will want to make reservations early and to obtain an eTicket that secures your place on the next Charleston Chef's Kitchen Tour.
