This museum covers more than 450 years of African American Heritage and culture in the nation's oldest city. Its exhibits and programs offer a rich array of what life in a segregated community was like.

The LifeWays Exhibit shows the complexities through trials and triumphs that made Lincolnville thrive as an African American community. Education, the arts and live performances, the lifeblood of Lincolnville's residents are highlighted in the museum.

Here the sounds of music fed the soul from Saturday night dinner clubs depicting a rich culture of Jazz that attracted many to places like the Odd Fellows Hall. Sunday morning worship are among the displays and story lines you will see and hear, and learn about the role they played in the Civil Rights Movement.
