This scenic trail takes riders through Dykes Marsh and Belle View Park. The canopy coverage and banks of the Potomac provide seclusion and a beautiful transition back in time to an early America, making the ride a wonderful way to approach the timeless feel of the Mt. Vernon Estate.

Learn about the history and stories behind George Washington's home and the surrounding area! Costumed characters do the chores needed on this 1799 estate. Explore the 21 room mansion, slave quarters, stables,16 sided barn (designed by Washington), working farm with rare breed farm animals (similar to the ones that Washington kept), and gardens as they looked in 1799. Pick a spot on the grounds to enjoy the picnic lunch you bought and brought with you.

Then board the Miss Christin for a narrated boat ride on the Potomac River, back to Old Town Alexandria.

Operating Times:

This tour is seasonal and runs from April 1 thru Oct 29th.
April 1 - Sept 3: Tuesday - Sunday-(Closed Mondays)
Sept 6 - Oct 4: Friday - Sunday
Oct 5-Oct 27: Saturday -Sunday
Bikes must be picked up between 10:00 am and 11:00 am.
It is recommended departing Alexandria by 11:00 am to cycle to Mt.Vernon.
Boat departs Mt. Vernon at 4:00 pm; arrives in Alexandria at 5:30 pm.

48-hour Advanced Reservation Required. Heights for all passengers MUST be called in advance of tour date.
